The Long Course Weekend returns to Pembrokeshire this summer - and if you’re staying with us at Lamphey Court Hotel, you might notice things are a little livelier than usual on the roads around the 28th and 29th of June.

This exciting weekend of sporting events includes a huge cycle sportive on the Saturday and a full marathon on the Sunday, with athletes from across the UK and beyond taking part. To help everything run smoothly, some roads will be closed temporarily as the routes pass through.

It’s all well-organised and clearly signed - and the great news is, you’ll still be able to come and go from the hotel. But if you’re planning to head out exploring on either morning, it’s worth checking the official closure maps ahead of time and giving yourself a little extra wiggle room.

Here’s what to keep in mind:

• Roads around Tenby, Lamphey, Pembroke and nearby villages may have rolling closures during the day.

• Saturday 28th is the cycle event, and Sunday 29th is the marathon – with roads reopening once the athletes pass through.

• If you need to get somewhere urgent, there’s an access line you can call for help navigating around closures: 01437 765 777

We’ll have information available at reception throughout the weekend, and our team is happy to help with routes and advice.
